Dinner before a gig at the Effenaar

The Effenaar is the largest music venue in Eindhoven and one of the best known in the Netherlands: a main hall for over a thousand people, a smaller room next to it, and a programme that runs from indie to metal and from hip-hop to electronic.

The timing

On a typical weeknight show doors open around 19:30, the support act is on about 20:00, and the headliner starts around 21:15. So you can eat unhurried between 17:30 and 19:00 and still be inside in good time. From our door on Kerkstraat it is about an eight-minute walk to Dommelstraat, via Vestdijk.

We do not take reservations, which on a gig night is a feature rather than a problem: you come in when it suits you, not at a time you decided on two weeks ago.

Hall empties out around eleven and you are still hungry? We are open late. A burger after a set beats whatever the night shop has left at that hour.
